Preserved flowers are a unique and innovative way to add a touch of beauty to any home or event.

Unlike fresh flowers, preserved flowers are real flowers that have been treated with a special process to maintain their natural beauty and texture for up to a year or more.

Preserved flowers are available in a variety of styles, from preserved roses to preserved flower arrangements, and can be purchased at Vermont Flowers in wholesale quantities.

What are preserved flowers?

Preserved flowers are natural flowers that have undergone a preservation process to maintain their beauty and freshness for an extended period.

Unlike dried flowers, preserved flowers retain their vibrant colors, soft textures, and natural appearance, closely resembling freshly picked flowers.

The preservation process involves replacing the flower’s natural sap with a glycerine-based solution. This not only sustains the flower’s life but also enhances its color and overall appearance.

This meticulous process can take up to several weeks, depending on the type and size of the flower.

Our flowers are cultivated and selected in Kenya, the country where we initially created our preservation technique in 1981.

01

Harvesting

The fresh flowers are first harvested at their peak bloom from our farms. Our team inspects batches of flowers and carefully chooses the best-quality heads.

02

Preservation

During the process, the natural sap within the flower gradually drains out and is replaced by the preservation fluid. As a result of this process, the flowers lose their colour leaving the petals completely transparent.

03

Colouring

They undergo a different process of dying and colouring, giving them that famous vibrant glow.

04

Drying

After this, the flowers are left to dry in a controlled environment.

advantages of preserved flowers

Advantages of Preserved Flowers

Longevity: The lifespan of preserved flowers is a major advantage. While fresh flowers might last for a week or so with proper care, preserved flowers can maintain their beauty for years. This longevity makes them an excellent investment, particularly for decor or keepsakes.

Low Maintenance: Preserved flowers require virtually no maintenance. They do not need water, sunlight, or any specific temperature to stay beautiful, unlike fresh flowers which require regular care and optimal conditions to survive.

Versatility and Consistency: Preserved flowers are incredibly versatile and remain consistent in appearance over time. Whether they’re used in home decor, event arrangements, or personal accessories like corsages, they’ll retain their vibrancy and shape. Fresh flowers, on the other hand, have a limited lifespan and can wilt or lose their lustre over time.

Eco-Friendly: The method used to preserve flowers is usually environmentally friendly, employing non-toxic substances. Furthermore, as preserved flowers last longer, they may reduce the demand for fresh flowers, contributing to sustainability.

Aesthetic Appeal: Preserved flowers retain their natural colour and texture, looking just as stunning as the day they were picked. This enduring beauty provides a visual appeal that fresh flowers struggle to match over time.
